Triumph TR4 in British Racing Green (1:43 scale)
- When launched in 1961, the Micholotti designed TR4 introduced civilizing features such as wind-up windows into the TR range, which had previously been more of a traditional sports car. Priced at £1, 095, the TR4 fitted neatly between its two main rivals from archenemy BMC; the 132bhp but expensive at £1, 168, Austin Healey 3000 Mk 2, & the beautiful, but slower & cheaper 86bhp MGA Mk 2 at £963.
In 1965, after 40, 253 examples had been built, the TR4 received a major chassis redesign & became the TR4A. However, the body style continued almost unchanged until the TR6 was launched in 1968.
