Wanda & her brother Pietro were abandned at the Wundergore base of the High Evolutionary shortly after their birth. By the time they were teenagers, the twins had already manifested their mutant powers, & after a run-in with Magneto, the twins soon learned that the mutant terrorist was their father. Magneto pressed them into service as part of his anti-human terrorist unit, the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.
Now known as the Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver, Wanda & Pietro accompanied the Brotherhood for a time, but soon abandon their terrorist activities to join the Avengers. As a member of this foursome, the Scarlet Witch served with distinction, & as the team expanded, she became romantically drawn to one of her fellow Avengers--the android known as the Vision. To better control her power, she began taking sorcery lessons from the witch Agatha Harkness, & after both she & the Vision had built their confidence, the couple married.
Eventually, Vision & Scarlet Witch left active duty, & though they have tried to live in domestic peace many times, they found themselves repeatedly drawn into clashes with several super-villains. Wanda has served as a member of the West Coast Avengers & the Force Works team, & she realized her true nature as a Nexus Being to ward off extradimensional invasion by another Nexus Being, Lore.
