- In 1950 the Darlington Corporation bought its first motorbuses; by 1961 the fleet consisted of 38 double deck & 25 single deck, all of which were Guys.
The first double deck trolleybuses came in 1949, but all six were sold to Doncaster in 1952. Abandonment of trolleybus routes started in 1952 & was completed by 1957. In later years more cream & less blue was used as the standard livery. No. 7 was delivered in 1964 as one of 12 purchased by the Corporation. They were then sold by auction; however No. 7 was retained for a short period before being sold in January 1981 to a charity.
