MG MGB Roadster in Bronze Yellow (1:43 scale)
- British Leyland"s internal politics meant that the MGB was not replaced in the early seventies as initially planned but was given small face lifts every year. It received standard Rostyle wheels, rocker switches, rubber-faced overriders, bright lurid colours reflecting the zeitgeist & in 1973 the grille centres & wipers became matt-black.
The car modelled is a famous press & publicity vehicle, photographed on 30th August 1972, & is reproduced as it was that day. The pictures appeared in brochures, newspapers, books & other publicity material. However, research by The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust shows that the number plate AKO 181L appeared on many other BL publicity cars.
