Nothing like it had been seen on television before — Star Trek was the first serious sci-fi television series & ultimately launched a franchise that spanned 40 years, 5 television series & 11 movies. Trek is still going strong: this year, the 11th Star Trek feature film quickly became a box office hit, delighting audiences & critics alike.
