Bugatti Veyron (2010)

Bugatti Veyron (2010) in Blue (1:18 scale) - In 1998 Volkswagen acquired the former sports car manufacturer Bugatti. In 1999 they presented four concept cars on various automobile shows. On the Frankfurt car show Bugatti presented the concept car Bugatti Chiron 18.3, which was quite similar to the Veyron. On the Tokyo motor show later that year the Veyron concept car was presented under the name “Bugatti Veyron EB 18.4”, it was equipped with an 18 cylinder engine, instead of the 16 cylinder engine which was later mounted in the series production. The decision to develop the Veyron was taken by Volkswagen in 2001. In August of 2003 the first prototypes where ready made. Apart from some minor details the car was almost identical to the final release. The development was very difficult
since the engineers had to overcome several significant technical problems. As a result the final assembly was postponed numerous times and finally started in September of 2005. © Wikipedia
