Atkinson Borderer Trailer with Canvas Load (William Nuttall) in Yellow & Blue (1:50 scale)
- From a farming background William Nuttall & Sons began with horse & cart haulage from 1908 & found a number of nearby contracts. Over the years following the Second World War the business grew & they transported cargoes ranging from paper & detergents to car parts & steel all over the UK. Nuttall’s were also early into European operations, setting up Eurolink in 1967 to ship loads to the continent.
Rapid expansion took place in the late sixties with numerous acquisitions of such well-known fleets as Joseph Roscoe. In 1973 the Nuttall Group itself was absorbed into Renwick Freight & then Ridham Freight Services. In 1989 the Nuttall operations were merged with Haselden of Strood to form Haselden-Nuttall which in 2000 became part of R Swain of Strood.
