TopChop Grass is a blend of specially selected, dried, British grasses. It is ideal for horses and ponies needing a soft, very palatable chop, perfect for fussy feeders including fit performance horses and elderly horses. The formula for TopChop Grass was tested and developed at the Middle Park Equine Research Unit and has been approved by the nutritional team as suitable for all horses and ponies other than those prone to laminitis and those that need to lose weight (we recommend TopChop Lite in these circumstances). TopChop Grass is a high quality chop that can be fed solely with a TopSpec feed balancer or supplement. Additional feed, for example a TopSpec Blend, can be added if extra nutrients for work or condition are required. It can be used as a hay replacer, especially for elderly horses struggling to maintain condition as a result of poor dentition reducing their ability to chew hay or haylage TopChop Grass is dust-extracted and the grass has been high-temperature dried. These two procedures minimise potential mould, making the chop suitable for horses and ponies with respiratory problems. Always dampen feed if your horse or pony has respiratory problems.

Ultra Grass is pure high-temperature dried chopped grass with a very light dressing of soya oil and is ideal for bringing a taste of pasture into the feed bowl. Appetising and free-flowing, Ultra Grass is rich in fibre and has a moderate energy content so is particularly suitable for horses with limited access to pasture and whose calorie requirements are significant. The drying process ensures the grass maintains its delicious aroma and colour as well as nutrient content, which includes some natural vitamins and minerals, but, since it also still contains the naturally-occurring sugars found in fresh grass, it is not recommended for the laminitis-prone.Each of the Baileys Fibre Range can be fed as a total or partial replacement for traditional forages (pasture, hay, haylage) when these are in short supply or of questionable nutritional quality. They may also be fed simply as an additional or alternative source of fibre-based slow release calories and, when fed in smaller quantities (0.5 1kg per meal), may be added to the compound feed to encourage chewing, slow consumption and also the rate of passage through the digestive system.
