We see a lot of quadcopters here at Menkind Towers. Big ones, little ones & everything in between. Every now & then something comes along that really blows us away, & the FX-145 V2 from our friends at RED5 is one of those drones. The FX-145 V2 takes a step up from its predecessor with the addition of copper motors. Aside from being more durable, these are harder to damage if you do happen to crash your drone. &, in addition to these, the FX-145 V2 has everything we’ve come to expect from a drone – altitude hold & headless mode for much easier flight, variable speed modes so you’re never overwhelmed & even an automatic take-off & landing button to take all the stress out of the hardest bit of flying. But, it’s the host of added features that make the FX-145 V2 stand (or fly) above all the others, & whether you’re an aerial photographer or a budding stunt pilot there’ll be plenty to please you. If capturing a bird’s eye is what you’re after, then you’ll be blown away by the HD camera hanging underneath the drone’s belly. But the FX-145 V2 goes a step further with its imaging capabilities. Not only can you directly control the pitch (up & down motion) of the camera from your remote control, so it’s always pointing exactly where you want it, there’s also a super cool intelligent follow function so the drone will – you guessed it – follow along with your movements. But, don’t worry if photos aren’t your thing & all you want to do is fly your drone. On top of the three speed settings (it’s pretty nifty even in the lower ones) the FX-145 V2 is also capable of some pretty amazing flips & tricks, all at the touch of a button. You can use the app on your phone to fly FPV either via the included cradle on the remote or using a VR headset like the Vizor Pro (not included) for a fully immersive experience. Regardless of your intended use for the FX-145 V2 it has a few other tricks up its sleeve that you’re sure to find useful. There’s a Return to Home (RTH) button on the controller, & if you get out of range (though at 200m you’re unlikely to do so) or the battery reaches critical level the drone will automatically fly back to you & hover 5-8m from the controller, so you can land safely. Super bright LED lights mean it’s easy to keep track of where your drone is & an epic 20-minute flight time (which may vary depending on weather conditions) means you’ll have plenty of airtime before you need to recharge.
