This hands-on experience is ideal for any real ale fan & provides a great introduction to the subtle art of brewing beer. The basic principles of brewing beer have remained unchanged for centuries & during this tour you will see all parts of the process including: fermenting, where the sugar is broken down into alcohol; conditioning, which gives beer a smoother taste; & filtering which stabilises the flavour & gives beer its polished shine & brilliance. You will begin the day with a tour of the brewery where you will learn about the equipment used to make the beer. Then, under the guidance of a brewing team, you will carry out the various processes such as how to mash in, boil, ferment & condition ale whilst picking up brewing tips & advice. To complete this experience you will taste some of the brewery's beers for yourself. At some locations you will be also treated to a light lunch, accompanied by a beer of your choice. The Brewery Experience Day at Brewhouse & Kitchen is a fun & interesting way to spend your day, with plenty of occasions to indulge in your favourite tipple, beer! Under the guidance of the head brewer, you will spend the day not only learning about the art of brewing but you will also get involved in the actual brewing process & create some beer. The day begins with a bacon butty, accompanied by a choice of tea or coffee. You will then be introduced to the brewery followed by a talk on all the technical aspects of the brewing process, then it's time to get stuck in yourself! After all this hard work you will take a break for lunch, accompanied by a beer or two, of course, after which you will return to the brewing process. Once finished, you will be able to take your 5 litre mini-keg home to enjoy!
