Remote-Mimic isnt limited to your TV only it can also work your home cinema system if you need that for the sound. Remote-Mimic can even be used with DVDRs many of them have to be turned on in order to loop-through correctly. Remote-Mimic is first taught the commands necessary to control your TV & home cinema equipment & any remote control keystrokes that may be required to select the correct AV input common with flat screens or projectors. It is then simply attached to the last piece of equipment before the TV by means of the plug-through SCART connector & the main unit is attached to the side or top of the video source by its magnetic base. Once fitted Remote-Mimic can be forgotten & will never need reprogramming unless you upgrade your TV. All you have to do thereafter is to turn on your video source & Remote-Mimic will take care of the rest. It will bring your TV & home cinema system out of standby & select the apropriate input automatically. When you have watched enough simply turn off your video equipment & Remote-Mimic will turn-off your TV & home cinema kit for you. Remote-Mimic is powered entirely from the incoming SCART signal so no extra power supply is needed. Please note Remote-Mimic will only work if your TV has been placed in Standby mode. If it is turned off at the front panel or at the mains outlet or unplugged there is nothing Remote-Mimic can do. The source must be able to auto-signal via SCART pin-8 all equipment fitted with SCART connectors will except for video cameras & some games consoles. For use with such equipment we recomend the Smart-SCART intelligent video switch which can be used as an interface. It was designed with exactly this in mind.
