A power-amp designed for use in low voltage especially battery-operated applications such as AM-FM radios portable tape cassettes intercoms power invertors etc. For minimum parts count C1 & C2 can be omitted. With pins 1 & 8 open circuit the gain is internally set to 20d B. With a 10micro F capacitor between pins 1 & 8 the gain is increased to 200d B & the gain can be set to anything between these limits by placing a resistor in series with this capacitor. For example a 1k 2 resistor here sets the gain to 50d B. The capacitor on pin 7 sets the power supply rejection ratio from 6d B with no connection to 50d B at 1k Hz with 10micro F. The inputs are referenced to ground while the output is automatically biased to half the supply voltage.
