LCD back lit clock with alarm & snooze function Measures indoor & outdoor temperature in either centigrade or fahrenheit Wireless RF outside transmitter with wall mounting bracket Keeps a record of the highestlowest temperature measured Calender displays month & date Supplied with stand or can be wall mounted Requires 2 x AA batteries for the clock & 2 x AA batteries for the sensor
- all batteries supplied This LCD clock not only tells the time but also displays the ambient temperature measured by a digital thermometer. The clock keeps track of the passing of time by measuring the natural resonant vibrations of a small crystal of quartz in the electronic circuit. This very accurate counter can then be used to calculate whole seconds minutes & hours. Until well into the middle of the twentieth century this would have been as accurate a clock as it was possible to get. The outdoor temperature is measured by a digital thermometer in a small sensor that can be located up to 30 metres away from the main display. The digital thermometer itself is a junction between two different metals
- the resistance of the junction varies as its temperature changes so the amount of electric current that can pass through is a measure of the temperature. Royalties from the sale of this product help fund & support the Science Museum in London.
