The Old Reading Room is an exceptionally well presented, personal & romantic country cottage (three proposals have taken place here to date) set in the heart of this lovely and tranquil village. The cottage which itself is contemporary & light, & fantastically located to explore the Cotswolds, has been meticulously restored (and maintained) to a very high specification from what was originally the old school room where local children would have practised their reading & music. Externally the property has access to a peaceful, secluded country cottage garden. The Old Reading Room is situated in the heart of Bledington, an archetypal Cotswold village with a quintessential village green, attractive stream with Bledington ducks, together with the acclaimed Kings Head pub. Set on the edge of this perfect village, The Old Silk House is a delightful Cotswolds cottage offering a very good standard of self catering accommodation. With a history dating back hundreds of years, the building (which was once involved in the Cotswolds' silk trade) today retains much of its charm & character with wonky floors & little flights of stairs here & there all combining to make this an excellent choice. We absolutely loved the way the owners have made this a welcoming home, you will find books, beautiful books, everywhere & in fact we challenge anyone to fail to find something suitable, even the children! There's even a Mary Berry cook book.... We love the way that this cottage reminds of what holidays & relaxing are all about. (For the techie-gamers there is a Wii console with a mountain of games & handsets so if you fancy a change from a good read, the family can get stuck into some games.)
