This delightful holiday property set in a quiet location within the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, a short distance from Burford. The property is presented to a very high standard with up to six bedrooms* and four bathrooms available making it absolutely prefect for large group gatherings
- be they friends or family. Internally the property retains many period features along with countless contemporary touches to give this a real high quality, minimalist feel. An element that particularly appealed to us was the large ground floor which has the feeling of being 'open plan' but actually has separate 'rooms' & thus creates a sense of being together without all the nise that this can sometimes bring! Similarly appealing are the large gardens to the rear of the property, which the owners have thoughtfully added a hot tub, skittles & table tennis which are just as much fun for friends (adults) as they are families with children! A great choice.ACCOMMODATIONEntrance through to the open plan ground floor. Kitchen, a modern & fully equipped room with attractive & contemporary kitchen units. leading to separate dining room. Malt House Cottage, tucked away in a very quiet spot, is a classic period holiday cottage providing cosy, warm self catering accommodation within the heart of the market town of Newent. Formerly the stables for the Malt House, the cottage has a history dating back 200+ years and inside there are some examples of this with the original beams and wooden staircase still evident today. We felt a very welcoming ambience within the property, as you often have within such period properties, but the immaculate presentation made it feel special & unique. Of real appeal, however, is the stunning garden which has been created by the owner, the award winning gardener Julian Dowle, who has won many Gold Medals at the Chelsea Flower Show - a more truly English Country Garden you will not find
- we viewed it in full swing! All in all this is a delightful holiday cottage that we are confident you will enjoy at all times of the year. Excellent facilities are on your doorstep in the town, all of which are literally seconds away.ACCOMMODATIONEntrance from garden through to small lobby, with hooks for hanging & boots/ shoes, leading to kitchen. Bedroom, a lovely, light room with period furniture, plus double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers & Ensuite Bathroom with bath, shower over, WC & washbasin Outside There is a south facing garden accessed directly from the cottage, with a garden table & 4 chairs. Babes in arms (up to 3 years) welcome, but please note NO cot or high chair available. Good Mobile Reception. Off street Parking for one car. Local Information Newent is a bustling market town situated in Gloucestershire, in the heart of Wye Valley countryside. It is a sweet, bustling town with many attractions, restuarants & pubs to choose from - all a short stroll from the cottage. The town is a short distance (and therefore a short drive) from The Royal Forest of Dean & The Cotswolds which, respectively, have excellent cycle paths & walks through the woods; and countless delightful villages, towns and attractions to choose from. Interestingly, Newent was once particularly known for its profusion of Spring daffodils which used to be picked & delivered to local hostpitals, although this has since stopped the local area still has swathes of daffs but these are more for general enjoyment & therefore picking is generally not encouraged! Also of note, bizarrely, is that Newent hosts the annual Onion Fair which is exactly as it sounds but also

an onion eating competition! Sounds hilarious...
