Malt House Cottage, tucked away in a very quiet spot, is a classic period holiday cottage providing cosy, warm self catering accommodation within the heart of the market town of Newent. Formerly the stables for the Malt House, the cottage has a history dating back 200+ years and inside there are some examples of this with the original beams and wooden staircase still evident today. The town is a short distance (and therefore a short drive) from The Royal Forest of Dean & The Cotswolds which, respectively, have excellent cycle paths & walks through the woods; and countless delightful villages, towns and attractions to choose from. Interestingly, Newent was once particularly known for its profusion of Spring daffodils which used to be picked & delivered to local hostpitals, although this has since stopped the local area still has swathes of daffs but these are more for general enjoyment & therefore picking is generally not encouraged! It's not often you can say that you've spent the night in a property believed to be 1000 years old! Although some of the original features remain, Manor Cottage (as it is now known) is an historic building which today provides cracking self catering accommodation for families or groups up to six people.
