Product Description

Wick Court, is like nothing else we have ever seen, in terms of a holiday property! This handsome & unique building is situated at the end of a mile long lane, tucked within a bend of the River Severn, has its own moat and is surrounded by 140 acres of stunning English countryside. It is believed that the Court has a history dating back toC 1480, but of particular interest is the fact that there was a Royal visitor, Queen Elizabeth I, who stayed here when she was forced to leave nearby Berkeley Castle. Today the property is run as a charity (Farms for City Children) providing children with the opportunity to learn about where food comes from, the importance of caring for animals & the land & the value of working co-operatively as a team. (quoted from the Farm for City Children website). The property is unusual but it is ideal if your party is large, plus all proceeds go back to the charity (see below) which is for an excellent cause. The accommodation is basic but it is fun - after all when was the last time you slept in a bunk bed?ACCOMMODATIONGround Floor Large working kitchens, fully equipped to cook for the 40 strong party Dining Rooms

Reading Room with sofas Outside Games Room with table tennis table, table football & air hockey Laundry Room with washing machines & airers Boot Room While the price per week is as advertised, we would be willing to consider parties of a smaller size based on a minimum price. Weekends & short breaks are happily entertained at any time. Please note that bed linen is included, but towels are NOT. At certain times there may be the opportunity to purchase vegetables etc grown in the gardens! There is plenty of space to enjoy around the house including enclosed gardens, as well as the acres & acres of fields. The River Severn is about 100 yards away, although access must be across a local lane. To learn more about the charity & its work visit the blog: http://www.farmsforcitychildren.org We of course, will be happy to go through the property in detail to assist you & ensure that you are aentirely happy with your choice & decision
