This exciting game takes you in a jeep through the African savannah, as you try to find as many animals as you can. The 40 animal cards are placed face down next to the viewing points around the board, & players throw 2 dice to determine how many spaces to move. Players can choose whether to move the number of spaces shown on both dice, or whether to move the number of spaces just indicated on one of the die. The aim is to land on a viewing point, where you can collect an animal card to add to your collection. However, each die shows a pair of binoculars on one side, & if this appears when a player rolls the die, that player can zoom in & take an animal card from another player. Once all the players have finished their safari & reached the camp, the player who has collected the most animals is the winner. This game involves a certain amount of strategy, as players can decide whether it would benefit them to move the amount of spaces shown on one or both dice. The advanced gameplay instructions suggest a different option for older children which makes the game even more strategic. As well as helping with maths skills & lateral thinking, children can have fun talking about the animals in the game & making animal noises. Suitable for 2 to 4 players.
