Wera 28 piece Imperial (AF) compact Ratchet & Socket set in a clever fabric case, containing 1/2" Speed ratchet, inch size sockets & accessories. Ideal for those on the move, this high quality, structured fabric case is a sharp contrast to traditional heavy metal or bulky plastic boxes. The tools inside are securely arranged in a way that allows the case to be closed into a compact form, allowing it to become a constituent part of a tool box
- not a separate item
- & allows easy tool selection. Inside, the Wera Zyklop Speed ratchet, thanks to "flywheel" head design & freewheel spin-sleeve increases operational speed of running fasteners up & down by up to 5 times. The high precision gearing provides a small return angle of 5° from 72 teeth, allowing work in the most confined spaces. The unconventional ratchet design allows huge torque transfer capabilities, so increasing service life & performance. The swivelling ratchet head offers five different positions that are lockable. Press-button socket & accessory locking & release in any position, for complete tool security. No accidental change of torque direction with the thumb wheel switch. The Kraftform multi-component handle is designed to deliver extra comfort during intensive use, especially when high torque is being trasnferred. The handle is impervious to all workshop fluids, & cannot detatch from the shaft. The Production Quality sockets are built to exceed the new ISO standard that offers the user the option to use them in battery, electric & air power tool applications as well as manual, hand operations, as long as impact is not used. A patented knurling around the socket base allows the finger rotation of free-running fasteners, even if coated in lubricant. The locking bit adaptor cleverly allows the ratchet with the head in the 0° position to be used as a screwdriver. Contents

In this inspiring book, Derek Hayes investigates the process & practice of design in woodturning. Design is rarely a priority for the beginner woodturner & most turners in their early work begin by concentrating on technique rather than shape or form, which can prove counter-productive. While aiming to instill confidence in appreciating, criticising & selecting sources of inspiration, Derek doesn’t tell you what is good or bad, but rather questions why we may find one turning attractive & another ugly. He looks closely at design elements, sketching, proportion, pattern, open forms, enclosed forms, the foot, the rim, using wood, decoration & colour; with instructive diagrams & photographs that will guide the reader to a better understanding of design. Readers are encouraged to question & fine-tune this understanding & experiment with ways of applying the approaches of other designers to their own work. Where inspiration is found is not important, but how we transform what is seen into something which is definitely our own is what matters. Each chapter starts with a photographic example of what Derek sees as good design in a medium other than woodturning. The pieces are not ‘deconstructed’ to justify his choice, but are there to serve as a reminder to the turner, as David Ellsworth has said, ‘...to look for design choices with critical awareness’. ...
