The Record Power PT300 12" x 8" Heavy Duty Planer Thicknesser has a cast iron surfacing table that is heavily ribbed, as well as a large cast iron thicknessing table. It has a 3hp induction motor that is all housed in a heavy steel frame for stability. There is more than enough power for the 12" x 8" capacities & it has a maximum cut of 5mm. There are three knives on the 70mm block that allow fast speeds & provide a superb finish. The user is protected by anti-kickback fingers & the knurled steel infeed roller drives work materials into the block easily. The heavy fence extrusion is mounted on a large cast iron mount which tilts to 45 degrees & is quickly & easily reset to 90 degrees with the aid of an adjustable stop. This is then mounted on a thick steel bar which in turn is mounted in another substantial casting fixed to the outfeed table. When changing to thicknessing mode it is only necessary to tilt the outfeed table which simply flips up with no need to remove it.
