Bulb Requirements

A great alternative to the traditional halogen powered downlights, these quality downlights require a unique low energy SGU10, available separately. These bulbs are available in 3000 kelvin warm white & 4000 kelvin cool white options. They have an extra long life, with & average life expectancy of 10, 000 hours, so they should last for years without needing replacement. With an 'A' energy rating, you are sure to make great savings in the long term as these bulbs use up to 80% less electricity than standard halogen light bulbs

Fire Rated & Buildings Regulations compliant

Current buildings regulations state that any residential premises with a top floor height up to 18M above the ground should have ceilings resistant to fire for up to 60 minutes. Residential premises with top floors 18M-30M should have ceilings resistant to fire for up to 90 minutes

Installation of recessed lighting requires cutting into the ceiling area & so can compromise the ceiling fire rating. To maintain a fire rating when recessed lighting is installed the lighting itself must also be fire rated. Fire rated downlights have an integrated protective cover or 'can' that prevents the heat & flames from being transferred through them into the ceiling void

This product is fully fire rated & suitable for use in 30, 60 & 90 minute fire rated ceilings.

This product is compliant with buildings regulations parts C, E & L covering air flow, acoustics & energy efficiency
