Osram manufacture these lamps, which are the world's smallest low voltage halogen reflectors. They have been designed to maximise their light output by being specially shaped to project the light forward or sideways, as required. Two types The forward projecting lamp has a fat glass envelope which allows the heat to dissipate frontwards, keeping the fitting cool, whereas the sideward projecting lamp throws the heat & light to one side, keeping the other side (and there for rear of the fitting) cool.
