- the sky really is the limit! Then, sit back, relax & and enjoy the immersive 3D experience!
What better way to appreciate the Science Museum's space-related exhibits, than to have your little ones inspired by two fantastic IMAX films..
Hidden Universe (U)
In an age where space tourism has become reality, this major new film will allow you to experience an inspiring story of human endeavour, bringing our universe to life in stunning IMAX 3D.
With real images of distant galaxies, the sun & Mars, taken by Hubble & the world’s most powerful telescopes, Hidden Universe takes you on a mesmerising tour of deep space. Travel the terrain of Mars, be immersed in spectacular galaxies billions of years old & witness the birth of stars as we unlock the mysteries of the cosmos.
Fly Me to the Moon 3D
An animated IMAX film that will take you back to that historic moment, when the world was united for man’s first steps on the Moon. In 1969 three astronauts dared to go where no man had gone before
- the moon.
The Science Museum is proud to have on display the real Apollo 10 command module & a full size replica of ‘ Eagle’
- the lander that took astronauts Armstrong & Aldrin to the Moon in 1969. In the Exploring Space gallery you can also find out more about how we are able to live in space – to breathe, to eat, to drink and… to go to the toilet.
Enjoy the fantastic cafes (popcorn & drink, only £2.50!) & a very roomy basement area in which kids can run around... You can also bring your own snacks to eat in the picnic areas.
So get ready to have a blast of a day out and explore space yourself at the Science Museum!
