Lantern Large Ceiling Light

Description: With this ceiling light, the designer wished to have a mass of cable falling to the ground - although it is possible to adjust the length of the cable so as not to have any wires touching the ground. Ceiling light with matt black aluminium exterior (matt white on the interior) and transparent glass shade. The light slides along a 7m long red textile cable. The handles in Epoxy black steel allow the ceiling light to be ‘clipped’ in place at the desired height. Supplied with 1 x E 27 20 W compact fluo bulb. The light shade measures 42cm x 16cm. Truly modern, contemporary designer lighting. Designer: Mathias Hahn: Born in Germany in 1977, product designer Mathias Hahn lives and works in London. A graduate of the Royal College of Art, he studied industrial design
under Ron Arad. Having previously trained as an industrial designer at the University of Essen, Germany, he has always worked as an independent designer, collaborating with the industry on a wide variety of projects, acquiring experience in the Product Design Departments of Volkswagen and Tom Dixon. At the end of 2006 he co-founded OKAYstudio in London, where he works as an independent designer and product research advisor. Thanks to his experience in the field of industrial design, taking into account production and manufacturing processes, Mathias Hahn is able to devise well-considered products designed with both daily use and functionality in mind. In describing his creative process he refers to an intuitive approach, a mixture of experimental curiosity and functional
simplification through utility. Considering his workshop and studio to be a laboratory for the design process, he devises and develops useful products which demonstrate simplicity, humanity and even humour.
