Web Content Filtering The content control features of the Vigor 2926 series means that you can set restrictions on web site access blocking download of certain file or data types blocking specific web sites with whitelists or blacklists blocking IM/P2P applications or other potentially harmful or wasteful content. Restrictions can be per user per PC or universal & according to time schedules. Content filtering can also block sites using HTTPS/SSL where URLs are encrypted (and normal routers cannot block). The Vigor 3910 supports VPN trunking; this means that you can create tunnels down multiple WAN connections to a remote site in order to increase bandwidth. - Ultimate Resiliency and; Reliability The SFP+ ports when fitted with an optional SFP+ or SFP module can be linked to 1 Gb E or 10 Gb E uplinks through Fibre or any other link type with a suitable transceiver. Fibre is of particular use for longer distance deliveries beyond the range of standard Ethernet or where copper connections cannot be used. These multiple WAN interfaces can be used either for WAN-Backup or Load Balancing with Policy-based Routing giving you full control of where & how traffic is routed. Load-balancing or failover supports IPv 4 only currently (not IPv 6). WAN-Backup provides contingency (redundancy) in case of your primary Internet connection or ISP suffering temporary outage). Internet Traffic will be temporarily routed via the secondary Internet access. When normal services are restored to your primary Internet line all traffic is switched back to that. Flexible WAN and; LAN Ports The Vigor 3910 features 12 physical ports in total with 8 ports that can be switched between LAN & WAN usage to fit your network requirements with many combinations being possible High Availability For even greater resilience the Vigor 3910 provides High Availability (HA) with both a primary & secondary router able to provide connectivity to your network & subnets. In the event of the primary unit failing the secondary unit will take its place on the network automatically switching over to resume Internet routing & VPN connectivity with no intervention required. This can remove the possibility of a single point of failure within your routers. Vigor AP-810 Wireless Access Point The Dray Tek Vigor AP-810 is a standalone wireless access point ideal for adding wireless connectivity to an existing LAN or for expanding the range of an existing wireless LAN by using the WDS features. The AP-810 replaces our popular AP-800 model adding full compatibility with our managed wireless platform. Wireless Security The AP-810 features multiple levels of wireless security. Encryption using WEP WPA WPA2 (802.11i) is available you can also use the access control list (ACL) to specify the hardware addresses of clients which are permitted to connect (by MAC hardware address). Any unauthorised hardware is refused access. For additional user authentication you can activate 802.1x RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial-in User Service) which means that you can centrally manage & store user names & passwords either within the AP-810 setup itself (thus not needing any external server) on an external radius server which can permit time limited temporary or continuous access to your clients as required. The Vigor AP-810 supports the 802.1q VLAN protocol so that if it is connected to an 802.1q enabled LAN it can split tagged data (whether its different subnets or intended for different users) & broadcast each on its own SSID. This means for example that your guest Wi Fi access is provided on a separate isolated SSID with no access to your company data/devices. USB (Universal Serial Bus) Printer Port The AP-810 has a USB (Universal Serial Bus) interface into which you can connect a regular printer. That printer is then accessible from any wireless or wired PC which connects to the AP-810 or a PC anywhere else on the network to whick the AP-810 is connected. This is ideal to provide printer access to wireless laptops but could also be used for installing a printer elsewhere in your home/office by using a pair of AP-810s to make a bridge. WMM
