Opi (aka Rodolfo) was given his childhood nickname by his sister & it stuck. Such a gentle, shy, affable & modest man, it just seems to fit. On a recent visit we tried to get him to reveal how he makes wines so delicious that he has two permanently in our Top 20! He shrugged & said he simply follows the way his family has always made wine. Thats typical Opi
- but not quite believable. The truth is he has a gift
- even if he doesnt know it. Though the laughter in his eyes suggests that maybe he does. He crafts this great red from hand picked grapes grown at 630 metres altitude & oak ages it for six months. Great grapes, great skill
- a winning combination. Enjoy this dark delight with spicy sausages, robust pasta or beef casserole.
