De Bortoli Wines were founded by Vittorio De Bortoli, an Italian settler keen to make a fresh start in the brave New World, but the cellar really hit the big time when his grandson, Darren, produced his famous dessert wine, Noble One. - across the range". Verdelho has been planted in Australia for the last 200 years, but until recently was used exclusively for the sweet liqueur style wines found in Victoria.
