Giles Mac Donogh of FT Magazine notes: " Many of Portugals best wines come from the Alentejo", yet the region is still little known in the UK. Thats good news for us, as producers there are really keen for their wines to gain a wider international following & our Buyer Anne Forrest was able to get a fantastic deal on this white. Indeed, winemaker Pedro Hippólito allowed Anne to select his best vats to go into this exclusive blend. Albarrada was made at a small cellar, built 50 years ago but now furnished with the most up to date winemaking equipment. Crisp & citrusy with a delicate minerally hint, it makes a great aperitif. Try too with pasta with tomato & basil, spring vegetable risotto or grilled white fish such as sole or halibut.
