It specifically relates to the width of the neck opening to prevent the risk of a child slipping down inside the sleeping bag & suffocating, & also relates to the thickness of the sleeping bag to prevent any risk of overheating (which is extremely dangerous for young babies), therefore the TOG rating must not be too high. •   Therefore, our sleeping bags have now been designed to meet the requirements of this new safety standard. This is why you will be able to see that the neck openings are narrower than previously & also the padding is not as thick. •  A TOG rating is a laboratory test that indicates the thermal resistance of the sleeping bag & is rated from 1 to 10.
