Product Description

The Hogitat offers hedgehogs & other mammals a safe retreat from the many hazards of modern life such as garden strimmers, forks & tools, pets & other predators such as badgers & foxes.

The sturdy rust-proofed steel frame has a water-proofed roof which is covered with a brush wood finish & provides an alternative to the dangers of the compost heap, leaf pile or bonfire pile where they may be victim of a fork or a fire. The small entrance tunnel is designed to deter predators such badgers & dogs.

The Hogitat is primarily designed for shelter rather than hibernation, but if covered over with additional branches & brushwood in winter hibernation may occur. The Hogitat may be anchored down for extra security from boisterous pets or badgers.

Siting

Locate the hogitat within cover out of the prevailing wind. Pile leaves or foliage around the house to further camouflage it. Place cut short lengths of dry grass or leaves inside as nesting material.

As the hogitat is made from natural materials the appearance may vary due to seasonal availability or environmental factors.
