This Stihl FS 40 grass trimmer offers fantastic value for money and some very intuitive features. Part of the Stihl FS range this is an extremely light and easy to operate grass trimmer. Similar to the lower spec Stihl FS 38 grass trimmer, the FS 40 model offers faster acceleration, reduced emission engine technology and free safety goggles.
This Stihl FS 40 grass trimmer is lightweight and easy to use and is perfect for a wide variety of gardening tasks. The safety goggles will protect your eyes from flying debris and harmful UV rays and Stihl recommended they are worn at all times whilst using this grass trimmer. Super easy to start, simply set the choke, pump the fuel primer, pull the starter cord and you'll be good to go.
The loop handle ensures this grass trimmer from Stihl is easy to operate and the bent shaft ensures that you can reach under trees and maneuver easily around garden objects. A simple starting process has been designed by drastically reducing the number of steps needed to start the machine, therefore reducing the likelihood of flooding the engine. All the controls you need are at your fingertips, now your hands will never need to leave the handle, just your thumb is required to operate this Stihl FS 40 grass trimmer.
Fitted with a manual pump fuel (a purger), the small fuel pump delivers fuel to the carburettor at the simple touch of a button. This results in reduced starting strokes required following extended breaks in operations. So if you leave your machine for any period of time you can simply re-start at the touch of a button without having to go through all the steps again. Great for busy gardeners.
The Stihl 2-stroke engine features stratified charge that gives you faster acceleration, low emissions, and reduced fuel consumption. This works by allowing a fuel-free layer of air being created between the burned charge in the combustion chamber and the fresh charge in the crankcase, thus lessening the amount of fuel lost during the charge cycle. This results in more power with a lower weight, up to 20% lower fuel consumption in fact than a traditional 2-stroke engine. Exhaust emissions are therefore reduced.
All our STIHL machines are run, checked and tuned and given full PDI (Pre-delivery Inspection) before leaving our premises. This means we will unpack your Stihl, start it, test it and individually tune it for maximum power and efficiency. We ensure that your machine is set up and ready to run when it is handed over to you.
