The Pony Bottle Quick Release System establishes a very quick & easy connection between the pony cylinder & the main cylinder (s). Connect/unlock the cylinders just by a pressing the locking pin with your thumb. The pony holder plates are are equipped with rubber strips to provide a firm grip on the air cylinders. The light weight metal is coated with a sea water resistant layer.

Thank Holder Opposite Version: In this opposite version of the Metalsub tank plate, the pressure pin is situated on the opposite side of the plate. This provides an easy & free access to the pressing pin for (de)mounting the accutank when using quick release systems on two sides of your double set or rebreather. Relocating the pressure pin in the design is only a small adjustment, but guarantees using the quick release system as easy & fast as possible when placed in an opposite direction.

This smart system consists of two parts:

• The first half of the system, the pony bottle holder, will be permanently attached to the pony cylinder.
• The second half of the system, the tank plate, is placed underneath the fastening tape of your dive set. It could also be permanently attached to your dive set using the supplied Stainless Steel Hose Clips.

The Pony Bottle Quick Release System helps you prepare your dive equipment (at home), so when on location, it reduces the time to get into water significantly.

The  Metalsub  Quick Release System Kit consists of:

Assembly:

• Attach the tank plate (shorter component) of the system to the main cylinder using your BCD cylinder attachment straps / bands.
• The tank plate can also be attached to the main cylinder by using two stainless steel clips (see pictures).
• Attach the pony cylinder holder (longer component) to your pony cylinder with the stainless steel clips.
• Please ensure that the rubber on the clips are in place before assembly.
• Do not over-tighten the stainless steel cylinder clips as this may damage them.
• Simply slot the pony cylinder component into the main cylinder component, press the pin & release when the two are joined.
• Ensure a secure connection has been made.

Washing Instructions:

• Wash with clean fresh water after each use.

Lubrication:

• Add silicone lubricant on the lock system.

The Metalsub Quick Release System is perhaps the most iconic Metalsub product. Owner/designer Rob de Rijk, & also an enthusiastic wreck diver, was many years ago,  annoyed by the inadequate & inconvenient way in which he had to attach his decogas or drysuit cylinder to his dive set. Making tires to size, wetting tires, placing taps in the right corner, & then wishing that everything is tight enough & does not come loose.

He went to work & designed Metalsub's literally world-famous Quick Release System. The Metalsub Quick release systems are designed to easily change between different cylinders. It doesn’t matter whether these are double or single cylinders. A system that literally fixes a smaller cylinder with a click of a button on the dive set & in the correct position. The Quick Release System is part of an entire family. It is compatible with Metalsub's aluminum battery tanks, but also with fastening systems for rebreathers & double sets.
