Mc Nett Gear Aid Seam Grip WP Waterproof Sealant & Adhesive
- 30ml / 1oz Tube
Seam Grip WP by Gear Aid is a gear repair kit in a tube that goes above & beyond to keep moisture out. Use it as a tent seam sealer, sleeping pad fixer or equipment rebuilder. It’s also a flexible repair adhesive that works on all types of fabrics & surfaces, including neoprene, PVC, rubber, leather, vinyl & synthetics.
Seam Grip WP goes beyond patching holes. As a permanent waterproof sealant, it keeps outdoor enthusiasts dry & comfortable. It waterproofs tent seams, improves traction & offers abrasion resistance, too. Seal up to 3.65 m / 12 ft of tents, tarps, & awnings with a single 28 g / 1 oz tube.
Use Seam Grip WP to permanently seal the seams of tents, rainflies, & even waterproof jackets. To apply, set up your tent or lay down your outdoor gear so you can seal the inside seams. Add on the applicator brush, then press to apply to the seams. One tube will seal up to 3.65m / 12 feet of seams. Leave the item to cure overnight. Once cured, you’ll have a clear, glossy seal that flexes with fabric, & stands up to extreme temperatures so you can go anywhere. It’s also an excellent adhesive for repairing rips & holes in tents, tarps, awnings, inflatables, & almost all other nylon, canvas, & vinyl outdoor gear.
So take a tube of Seam Grip WP wherever you go, because you never know when gear will rip, leak or fall apart. Save your gear

Review: Perfect for repairs. Taped seams on my jacket were leaking & this did the job really well. The smaller brush was perfect for the job. Word of advice is do wear gloves as the glue is very difficult to get off your hands!

Features:
Note: Please note that Seam Grip is NOT suitable for use on Sil-nylon (silicon based) tent fabrics. For silicone-treated tent & tarp fabrics, such as Silnylon, use Sil Net™ Silicone Seam Sealer & Sil Fix™ Adhesive
Instructions:
NOTE: Wear gloves during application to avoid getting on your skin.
Seam Sealing:
Roughen & clean surfaces with rubbing alcohol. Apply Seam Grip to both surfaces. Allow to dry (cure) 15 minutes, then join (clamp or tape) surfaces together overnight.
PREP: Clean seams on used material with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol or Mc Nett Cotol-240™plus Cleaner & Cure Accelerator.
Tear & Hole Repairs:
Apply just enough Seam Grip to cover the hole & spread ca. 6 mm / 0.23in beyond. Allow to dry (cure) level overnight. For 2-4 hour cure time, mix Seam Grip with Cotol-240™plus before applying.
Seam Tape Tips:
How to prevent Seam Grip from hardering in the tube:
Seam Grip is a moisture-cure adhesives. As soon as you pop the top on the tube & expose the adhesive to the moisture in the air, the countdown begins. Unfortunately, you are unable to stop the curing process, but you can slow it down by storing the adhesive in a dry environment like your freezer. We typically recommend storing as follows:
Begin by advancing the contents to the tube neck to remove any air that may be trapped in the tube. Next wipe the tube threads clean to prevent the cap from sticking. Next, cap tightly. Next, place the adhesive in a plastic zip-lock bag. Next, store the adhesive in a dry environment like your freezer. When ready to use, run the tube under warm water for about a minute.
While this will not stop the adhesive from curing, it will help slow things down.
We give an un-opened tube of adhesive a two-year shelf life. The „batch-number“ will be crimped into the bottom of the tube. The adhesive is typically good for two years past the date of filling.
