Strip sizes 10 x 4mm & 15 x 4mm are 30 minute rated & strip size 20 x 4mm is 60 minute rated. The 15mm width is the popular choice or doorset manufacturers who prefer the size due to its 'belts & braces' way of getting through fire tests. The leading brand fire resisting doors are fitted with the 15mm size, one strip for 30 minute doors & 2 strips running parallel, but approx 6mm apart, plus one brush & one plain where smoke seals are required around the door to achieve FD60 status. in addition, factory doorset manufacturers use this size as it has enabled them to use one size cutter for either FD30 or FD60 doors, albeit set up differently. The Fire Only strip is plain, whereas the Fire & Smoke has a brush. All brushes are black with no frustrating plastic fin, reducing noise levels & resistance
