This is your chance to become a wing walker for the day! Treat the adventurer in your life to an intensive training session in preparation to then walk the wing on a thrilling flight out of Chiltern Park Aerodrome situated between Oxford & Reading. This wing walk display really is one of those 'once in a lifetime' experiences that is guaranteed to get the adrenaline flowing as you climb up onto the wing of the biplane for this unique aerial ride. Why walk on land when you can walk on the wing? The ultimate aim of this day is to turn you from budding top-wing riders into proficient wing walkers capable of taking part in a 10-minute aerial display. We're guessing this is the first time you'll have attempted a wing walk so the experience starts with a full safety briefing on the ground. You might not be expecting this but as well as the usual safety procedures it will include things like breathing techniques & hand signals all very much specific to the art of being a wing walker. The wing walking team at Chiltern Park has had the special wing rig manufactured 'made to measure' for the Boeing Stearman plane you'll be flying on. Once you the budding wing walk star has climbed up onto the top wing which is about 10ft off the ground you'll be strapped in with a super-secure five point harness. When comfortable & after one last run through of what you need to do you'll be taxiing off ready for the personal wing walk air display of your life. / As you feel the wind in your face you'll be flying at speeds of up to 135mph & it's at this point that you can officially declare yourself as a wing walker. Most wing walkers are so exhilarated in flight that they can't help grinning madly & waving at friends & family below. Keep your wits about you as you zoom in for a fly past at just 500ft off the ground & pull up for a sharp climb before heading into the finale
- a classic manoeuvre the 'run & break'. One thing's for sure you're not going to forget the day you became a fully-fledged wing walker!

Product Description

See a winter wonderland from the air on these winter sightseeing flights! These special heli tours take place during the colder days of the year so you can experience winter as its best. & yes it might be chilly outside but inside the helicopter it's warm
- & with a view to die for!

We've organised these seasonal helicopter flights during autumn & winter so you can make the most of those crisp clear mornings. Choppers are pretty rugged flying machines so the lower temperatures don't hinder your hover. Icy runways don't prevent your take off as there's no taxiing you just gracefully lift off into the air & away you go.

Once airborne you'll be cruising at around 1000ft. It might be tricky to visualise just how high in the hibernal sky 1000ft actually is but we can assure you at these heights you'll have a superb bird's eye view on the wintery scenes below. & what's amazing is you can make out everything. & we mean everything. From horses grazing in their frosted paddock to people waiting in the cold at the bus stop.

If it’s your first time in a helicopter it can take a few minutes to get used to the sensation. You seem to move quite sedately almost as if everything is happening in slow-motion. Yet if you're the one on the ground looking up whilst you take the dog for his morning walk in the freezing air the helicopter seems to whizz over head at a rapid rate of knots.

Putting the ponderings of helicopter flight & physics aside these short & sweet winter excursions are just great fun. As you climb into your seat imagine what it’d be like if a heli was your daily form of transport of choice. You’d deftly avoid the traffic queues of Christmas shoppers & land pretty much right where you want to be…

No matter which location you choose for your winter sightseeing flight you'll be assured of a warm welcome from the flight crew even on the coldest of winter's day. During your flight you'll get a great view of the local area around the airport so bring your camera to capture those atmospheric shots of rolling mists over the countryside!
