If you're a fan of these classic aircraft (and let's face it who isn't?) our Spitfire Tour is a dream come true. This very special VIP Spitfire tour gives you access to the Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar home to a resplendent collection of Spitfires & other vintage warbirds. What makes this Spitfire tour unique is that it's a private viewing as the hangar isn't open to the general public. This is your chance to have a good look around this working hangar witness the everyday goings on see how the talented team works & generally feel rather emotional & overawed by the whole thing (as we were when we went!). You'll be met by one of the Spitfire team on arrival & shown through reception. Somewhat innocuous from the outside this place is a true treasure trove for aviation fans. As soon as the door from the office area to the main hangar is opened the view will take your breath away. Never before will you have seen so many priceless aircraft all in one place! And what really stands out is that it is all so much more real & somehow interactive than your usual aircraft museum. This is where all the wonderful restoration work is done where many of the planes are housed after they've been certified airworthy & also where other privately owned examples of Spitfires are hangared. You can get properly up close to these aircraft (so much so that you can catch a whiff of that distinctive smell of leather & oil!) but as it is a working environment you will be accompanied on your Spitfire tour for your own safety
- & also so your host can explain everything there is to know about these majestic winged residents. Your VIP tour takes on an extra dimension with you clambering in to the Spitfire to sit in that hot seat. Just try & imagine what it was like for many young pilots who were gallantly protecting our skies during the Second World War in these beautiful flying machines.

Product Description

Code name & new ID at the ready you’re going to SOE spy school! The very secretive Special Operations Executive was formed by Churchill at the height of WW2 with the aim of sending specially trained agents into occupied France to wreak havoc & provide essential information on the Nazi advance. These half & full day missions give you the chance to immerse yourself into the clandestine world of the SOE.

Nicknamed ‘ Churchill’s secret army’ it’s only fairly recently that detailed documents about the Special Operations Executive has come out including the full 1940 training document. It’s a fascinating insight into the incredibly brave work the men & women of the SOE undertook in wartime France & your missions will be based on this training.

Arriving at basecamp you’ll have your new identity & your code name. Make sure your background story is plausible & ensure you blend into the background of 1940s rural France. At these very special SOE spy school sessions all new recruits will be taught the basics to survive in occupied France whilst working for the British Government.

You might be issued a suitcase radio so you’ll need to get too grips with Morse code. Then there are the very subtle explosive kits with pencil chargers capable of blowing up a piece of railway track. You might even need to use the special devices to puncture tyres & don’t forget your key with a secret compartment for storing minuscule microfiches…

These experiences are all about total immersion as you become a Special Operations Executive agent. Most of your time will be spent outdoors working the woodlands & paths that surround your basecamp carrying out tasks & missions with your fellow SOE colleagues. It’s all very intriguing & involves everything from close combat skills & covert surveillance to controlling propaganda & being a master of disguise.

For those enrolled for a half day of SOE spy school operatives will undertake one mission in the morning or afternoon. Full day SOE agents will take time out for lunch which will be provided by mission control & is very much food for Special Operations Executives on the move. You then regroup at 14:00 hours for your afternoon mission. Good luck to all the girls & guys from the SOE you’ve got a country to save!
