- we are talking the 911 in its various disguises as let's face it the 911 is Porsche. Say hello to the Porsche GT2. This is the car some say Porsche should never have built. Not because it's not very nice looking or technically deficient in any way but because many say it's just too hot to handle both on & off the track. So you will need courage & driver skill if you're going to get the best out of this Porsche GT2 experience! You will be driving a 996 generation Porsche 911 GT2. Produced by Porsche to be a race-ready GT car that could be bought off the shelf this is a 996 that has been given a serious makeover. For starters the usual Porsche all wheel drive has gone. That means the GT2 is lighter (and therefore faster) & it also means it's rear wheel drive which is a whole different ball game when it comes to handling. Add to that a twin turbocharged 3.6l engine with those upgraded brakes suspension air intakes & huge rear wheel spoiler & the GT2 is the angry cousin of the 996. Even the nose has been more aggressively styled aiding the drag coefficient & reflecting the extra 'bite' this car has at the same time. & it can be seriously snappy. With the only driver aid you get being ABS taking this rear wheel drive beast out on the track will be the scariest yet most thrilling drive you've had. No wonder they nicknamed the Porsche GT2 the widowmaker. This is the car where you are traction control
- there's nothing else to help you tame this car! Slide into the body-hugging seats & you'll feel nicely cocooned. The driving position is ergonomically engaging as you'd expect from Porsche. Look at the dashboard & you'll see it's the rev counter that is the largest most dominantly-placed dial right in front of you. We think that says something about what driving a Porsche GT2 is all about. After sighting laps in a performance car with an instructor driving you get 4 or 8 laps in the superlative Porsche GT2 around the circuit where this car performs at its best. Let's see if you can turn the widow maker into the pure unadulterated smile maker out there.

Of all the things to do in the area a Portsmouth tour by helicopter has got to be pretty much at the top of the wish list! Touring bustling Portsmouth Harbour & the stunning Solent coast in a helicopter is a real thrill
- & you get that breathtaking bird's eye view of everything. Helicopter rides over Portsmouth set off from Solent Airport at Lee-On-Solent. This is the former Royal Navy Air Station known as HMS Daedalus just four miles west of the city. Being so close to Portsmouth means that even on the Buzz helicopter tour you'll get views of the Solent Portsmouth & towards the Isle of Wight. The City & Coast tour is a real insider treat as you get to fly over the whole dockyard area including the restricted access naval base that it is still very much in active service. Over 17 000 personnel work here & Portsmouth still boasts abundant ship building with orders for vessels such as aircraft carriers which you may well see from the air. You might also see the historic part of the dockyard home to the Mary Rose HMS Victory & HMS Warrior before flying over neighbouring Spinnaker Tower. This is a tour highlight for sure as this 170m tall observation tower in the form of a sail is such a great landmark for Portsmouth. Seeing it from the air in a helicopter is just brilliant & it's totally photogenic too so make sure you get some good aerial shots of the Spinnaker from your seat in the chopper! On the longer Isle of White & Needles sightseeing flights you'll head over to the Isle of Wight to circle the famous Needles as well as seeing all the local Solent & Portsmouth sights. Being a Portsmouth tour all the maritime action on the waters below you is central to these flights. Ferries naval vessels sailing boats & fancy cruise liners
- all can quite easily be seen from the heli which for these rides flies at around 1000ft affording you superb views or life in & around this corner of south Hampshire.

Porsche Test Drive

This is a Porsche test drive that'll be testing your motoring skills to the max! We've lined up a stunning Porsche 997 series for you to take for a drive. This version of the iconic 911 has been widely hailed as one of the best yet - and you're about to find out why.To put it simply this is a great car. Being German there are more three letter acronyms than you can shake a frankfurter at with the likes of PTM (that's Porsche Traction Management) VTG (that's Variable Turbine Geometry) and PDK…actually that's not a proper one as it's stands for Porsche Doppelkupplung. But what does PDK do? Well its Porsche's highly refined double clutch transmission ensuring ridiculously smooth and faster gear changes with no power loss which when combined with direct injection became the two key mechanical
factors that differentiated the 997 from the 996 predecessor. These two factors made the 997 even lighter even faster and even more fun than before - and you'll be putting all that to the test.Ironically the only criticism about the 997 is that it is too good. Porsches have a reputation as real driver's cars that really need to be driven to get the most out them whereas the 997 is alarmingly easy and responsive to drive and could become (shock horror) a day to day driving car. Albeit one that costs over £100 000…But put this 'easy to drive town cruiser' on the track and the 997 is a completely different beast. This car wants to be tested to its limits and Porsche has come up trumps when it comes to performance on circuit drives and track days. After your Porsche test drive we're sure
you'll agree that the 997 is a fantastic piece of kit and as a certain motoring journalist who used to be on the Beeb said the 997 will 'stir your soul'. If you weren't a Porsche fan before there's a good chance you'll be changing your opinion after testing this one out!
