See the sights & fly on this London skyline helicopter lesson! Departing from Elstree Aerodrome this 40-minute flight gives you enough time to see a fair bit of the capital & have a lesson in flying the chopper yourself too. These skyline lessons over London are exclusive experiences for up to three people so that means you can invite two of your nearest & dearest to join you as passengers in this comfortable four seater helicopter. As nominated 'co-pilot' you'll be sitting up front next to your instructor pilot - & yes you'll have a set of flight controls in front of you too. Your experience starts on the ground with a full briefing including dual control protocol (there are procedures to follow as there's no auto-pilot!). A couple of photos next to the R44 & before you know it the rotors are turning you are cleared for take off & away you go. As the one sitting in the co-pilot's seat you'll be doing some 'spotting' (ie keeping an eye out for other aircraft in those busy London skies) just as a co-pilot would do. & of course your rear passengers will be lapping up the amazing views. But don't get too settled gazing out of the window you've got another job to do. It's time to fly this helicopter! It's pretty thrilling stuff being able to fly on what is quite possibly your first ever outing in a helicopter over the impressive London skyline. After taking off from Elstree you'll fly out into the surrounding area where you can take in the luscious Hertfordshire countryside before continuing your route over the Lea Valley Reservoirs & over to East London where iconic landmarks such as the Olympic Stadium & Arcelor Mittal Orbit can be seen! Don't forget these London skyline helicopter lessons are exclusive to you as a group of three. & of course one nominated passenger will be sitting next to the pilot & will have the chance to take the controls. Who do you love enough to let have the front seat? ...
All aboard the executive chopper for thrilling London pleasure flights! Taking off from Stapleford Aerodrome you will enjoy a full half hour of flying time over the Thames where you'll be able to look down on all the capital's classic tourist attractions & gaze across the rooftops of the London skyline. You'll take to the skies in an AS355 twin-engine Squirrel helicopter. This Essex airbase is within the M25 so your flight path will usually take you alongside the M11. Passing the likes of the Bank of England print works (where they really do have a licence to print money!) & soaring over the Lea Valley you'll reach east London within just five minutes. Now that's what we call a commute! You'll then fly right over vibrant London in your heli starting with the likes of the Olympic Park the O2 Arena & the Isle of Dogs. As you pass round the towers of Canary Wharf see if you can spot Greenwich & the Cutty Sark on the other bank of the river. Now you're above the tourist heart of the capital. The landmarks come thick & fast with the likes of the Tower of London Tower Bridge & HMS Belfast then the Gherkin St Paul's Cathedral & the Shard as you continue to follow the Thames. Glance over to the South Bank & see if you can spot the Globe Theatre the Tate Modern & the OXO Tower. As you close in on the famous London Eye & the imposing Houses of Parliament at Westminster it's time to make a left turn & head back to base getting a great view of the Mall leading to Buckingham Palace as you go. What's really good about these London pleasure flights is the fact that you'll be flying at just 1000ft which is way lower than your typical commercial airline flight. That means you can see everything below in detail. Right down to the red London double decker buses crossing Westminster Bridge & people walking along the South Bank promenade. We reckon you should have the pleasure of seeing the capital from the air at least once in your life so go for it. Book your seat in the helicopter! ...
Tamper with time when you hop onboard the London time tour bus! Let the ever-so-slightly eccentric Professor Quantum & his time team show you the sights of Old London on this fun trip for all the family. Prepare yourselves for a magical journey with a difference… You will be travelling around central London on a beautifully restored 1960s Routemaster bus. However once onboard you'll realise this is no ordinary double decker. Indeed there's a strange mix of the old & the new with a high-tech audio visual system that could be from the future & some very strange-looking gadgetry too.' That my friend' as the inimitable Professor would say 'is my patented time travel technology'. As he starts to manipulate time you'll tour London discovering what it was like on the olden days where beheadings invasions plagues & peasant un-rest was the norm. Then there's a look at current London & even a little peek at what's to come - he's been there already after all! But who is old Quanto as he is affectionately known? His bus tour colleagues will tell you his origins are elusive but with a sharp wit he's scientifically literate & historically accurate too in his comedic presentation of London life through the ages. Indeed this undisputed master of time lists his hobbies as 'hot baths vanilla ice cream & reading books about trans-dimensional interstellar quantum particle theory & its applied uses in time travel' (not all at the same time we presume) so prepare for a time-twisting tour. During the voyage your knowledgable host will share anecdotes & stories about his travels (he's seen pretty much everything through the centuries after all). He'll point out the places where all the action took place & you might even see some footage of the events & fascinating historical figures too thanks to Pro Quanto's time phone. We think riding around on a London time tour bus is one of the most entertaining ways to visit the capital. Why bother trying to get to grips with the tube map or getting lost on foot when you can just let this expert of time guide you around old new & future London? ...
