Harley-Davidson® Peak District Experience
A truly exhilarating ride out when you take a Harley-Davidson® around the Peak District! These self-drive fully hosted tours around Derbyshire’s stunning Peak District are the business. Amazing scenery a fabulous American motorbike and like-minded people to ride with. What more could you ask for!
Actually there is more. You won’t just be riding any old Harley-Davidson®. You will be the officer in charge of a genuine ex-US Police Harley-Davidson®. Not only that these Police Road Kings were bought in Houston Texas one of the true heartlands of Harley riding in the USA. Now these fantastic bikes are totally at home cruising the Peak District.
This operator runs a fleet of eight Harley-Davidson Road Kings all of which are ex-Police. We are offering half and
full-day ride outs on these very special motorbikes. You can ride solo or you can opt for voucher that allows you to bring someone along to ride pillion with you.
On the half day session you’ll cover up to 60miles split into two rides with a stop for a cuppa and cake in between. Those opting for the full-day enjoy a longer tour with a long stop at nice little Derbyshire place for lunch included.
So what’s it like on Road King? Well they are as big and as imposing as you’d imagine. They’re pretty low-slung too with that distinctive rider stance we know and love so well from Harley-Davidson®. These bikes feature the retro windscreen large tank and lovely chrome detailing too.
Of course a Harley-Davidson® is heavy and it is quite different to
riding your typical European motorbikes but fear not your hosts will run through the controls with you. They’ll also explain the idiosyncrasies of Harley-Davidsons such as toe change downs and heel change ups.
Turn on the ignition and you’ll feel a rumble as the air-cooled v-twin engine roars into life. The ride is just as you’d expect - in low revs the Road King truly lives up to its name. Totally comfortable and capable of cruising the wonderful sweeping country roads of the Peak District the bike is a dream to ride.
