Flying out of Eshott Airfield you're in the heart of the Northumbrian coast & countryside within minutes of take off so your lesson will combine lovely views with top-notch aviation training. Eshott Airfield is located just off the A1 in a prime location for visitors & providing excellent aerial access to the beautiful rugged countryside of the North East. Once a busy wartime air training facility the aerodrome is much more relaxed nowadays. The aerodrome still reaps the benefits of the tarmac runways that were originally built & with hangarage having been extended the venue has planning permission to welcome up to 70 microlight/light sport aircraft & is fully BMAA (British Microlight Aircraft Association) registered. The aircraft you'll be flying in is the Czech designed & built Evektor Euro Star EV97 or the Ikarus C42. The simple design using high tech materials means both planes are super light putting it in the microlight category of aircraft yet it looks like any other trainer aircraft. The advantage of a closed cockpit & practical side-by-side seating makes them ideal trainer aeroplanes at this Northumbria flying school. Want amazing aerial views on your flying lesson? Then Snowdonia is the place to go! This friendly flying school is based at Llanbedr Airfield perched on the edge of the stunning Welsh coastline near Harlech. It's a great place to learn to fly. We are offering 45 & 60-minute trial lessons out of Llanbedr. Flights are operated in a rather lovely Robin DR400/180 aircraft. These are four-seater sport planes characterised by their distinctive low-wing shape standing out from the usual high-wing Cessna aircraft often used for flight training. It also makes them very stable in the air & easy to fly too. Pure joy over those Snowdonian peaks! What's more being four seater aircraft you can invite up to two guests to join you onboard your lesson subject to pilot approval. That means your flight can be a real family affair which makes the whole experience all the more special when you get to share those views. & what you get to see from the air as you fly in your Robin over Snowdonia on your lesson is truly spectacular. This is a very picturesque corner of Wales & it really is best seen from the air. Snowdonia Wales's highest mountain might have a dusting of snow even in the warmer months which looks incredible from the air. You're also right next to the coast at Llanbedr Airfield & as soon as you take off you'll be treated to clifftop vistas towards the Llyn Peninsula with the white-topped waves lapping on golden sandy beaches. We think being surrounded by both beaches & mountains is pretty unique & a truly breathtaking backdrop for your lesson. Taking you out on this aerial adventure will be chief instructors Stephen Richard or one of their dedicated team of pilots.
