On these coffee making courses in Oxfordshire the love of coffee certainly runs deep! This artisan coffee roastery opens its doors to welcome you into the wonderful world of coffee beans & making great coffee for a selection of fascinating afternoon workshops. Emily started her coffee business in 2015. After many years heading up leading coffee chains & cafes she decided it was time to go back to basics. As a coffee lover with a conscience Emily firmly believes that sustainability in coffee from sourcing to serving is possible. A good cup of coffee is perfectly capable of supporting coffee bean producing communities when the process is approached in the right way. You could call it green coffee making. We just call it a really good coffee with its heart in the right place. Part of the ethos of the business is to impart all that knowledge experience & skill to coffee lovers like you. Emily & her dedicated team of coffee roasters baristas & business-savvy helpers offer a range of coffee workshops to give you an insight into the world of coffee. The Roasting course delves deep into the origins of coffee sourcing beans how they are roasted in the in-house roastery & how they taste once made into a cup of coffee. The Home Barista course is all about extraction pouring & latte art. This is the one that'll teach you a few barista tricks to impress your friends with next time you're hosting a dinner party or a morning coffee meet. For those who want in-depth knowledge of how which beans you choose can alter the taste of coffee (a bit like different grape varieties making very different wine) we can highly recommend the Home Brewing workshop. If you don't know your Arabica from your Robusta this session will teach you all that & a whole lot more about the humble coffee bean. We think this eclectic collection of educational & very tasty coffee making courses in Oxfordshire will enlighten inform & delight any coffee lover. An afternoon spent at this rural roastery on a farm between Oxford & Reading is sure to satisfy all your coffee desires! ...

These themed demos & cookery courses in Suffolk take place at a modern cooking academy near the centre of Ipswich. For these courses that aim to make cooking fun you'll be learning from the owner & chef Mark David ably assisted by his wife & business partner Annie who also is the organising force behind these courses. As well as creating & leading courses & workshops Mark David has exceptionally wide cookery experience including hotel & outside catering as well as swanky corporate events in the Suffolk area & beyond. He spent three years as an Egon Ronay inspector & a further year as restaurant manager at Robert Carrier's acclaimed Hintlesham Hall hotel. He now runs this his own cookery school & is a regular author & broadcaster on all matters culinary. His light-hearted unpretentious approach to his courses has earned him a reputation in Suffolk as one of the best cookery teachers out there. & indeed the emphasis at this very high-tech purpose-built school is on quick & easy entertaining with dishes to tempt the palate but without stressing you out in the kitchen. All full cookery courses involve making bread two starters two mains & two desserts & maybe a couple of classic accompaniments to a meal such as risotto or a terrine & you will be working in teams in your own 'pod' cooking area whilst the themed evening sessions are run as informative demos where you observe the culinary action. So in essence on the full day cookery courses you learn through actually making the dishes yourself whilst the demonstration evenings are all about kicking back relaxing & watching
- & perhaps going as far as volunteering if your chef host asks for a helper
- as everything from Gazpacho & Gambas to Tarka Dal & Thai Chicken Stir Fry is being prepared before your very eyes. You'll discover these cookery courses in Suffolk are as much about tasting food & wine as they are about actually making the dishes. We think this is one of the friendliest cookery schools we have on the books & you're sure to have a fun & memorable day or evening being entertained by Mark & his team in their swanky demo kitchens. Don't forget to check our main cookery courses page for similar courses in other areas of the country.
