Hidden down a country lane from the wonderfully named Luggiebank village you'll come across a rather discrete wee entrance to this outdoor activity & falconry centre. It's very much a farm site so you'll need to dress for it but it's all in keeping with these birds' preferred natural habitats
- & this is the countryside after all! Open to the public there are up to two flying displays per day here in Cumbernauld. This gives visitors of all ages the chance to see a variety of different birds in the flying arena. No two displays are the same as the birds selected to fly changes with each show. These birds of prey experiences at this friendly centre between Glasgow & Falkirk give you the chance to go beyond just being a spectator & actually get involved. We've got a full range of falconry sessions for you to choose from at World of Wings in Cumbernauld. All include entrance to the centre so you can have a wander around the aviaries & visit the excellent onsite Cabin Cafe for one of their legendary hot chocolates or a bite to eat whilst the children play in the little games area. The introductory encounter is the Hawk or Owl walk option. You'll still have a good one hour & a half hours with the birds & time is spent going on a little wander around the Cumbernauld countryside with your owl or hawk accompanying you. Then there are the half & full day birds of prey sessions. These allow you plenty of time to meet get close to & fly several species of raptor. They both also give you a good insight into the work of the falconer & what life is like for both the birds & their trainers. Bird handling & flying are the order of the day when you book falconry in Rutland! We are offering a trio of experiences at this Rutland falconry centre with an owl experience as well as full & half day birds of prey sessions. All three give you plenty of chance to watch with delight as well as flying these magnificent creatures. Simon Tebbutt runs this bird of prey centre at the Greetham Valley Golf Course & Hotel assisted by his daughter. It's the perfect location for falconry days as it's easily accessible (being just off the A1 trunk road between Stamford & Stretton) yet is nestled in a wonderfully wild corner of the tiny county that is Rutl&. There are huge swathes of countryside with lakes & wooded areas interspersed by golfing greens all interconnected with paths & tracks. & you're actually on the famed Viking Way hiking trail here which runs from the Humber Bridge to Oakham in Rutl&. The birds of prey adore it here too. Get your tail-feathers in a spin with some fabulous falconry in Yorkshire! Meet majestic birds of prey & watch them soar through the skies above the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside on this 1200 acre estate. The emphasis is on giving participants a real hands-on experience getting to know the birds & understanding their behaviour as they are flown in fields & woodland

Before handling any of the falcons hawks owls kites & kestrels trained & cared for by the North Yorkshire falconry team you’ll be fully briefed on what the birds themselves will be expecting from you as well as how to approach the bird lift it from its perch & for those choosing the falconry experiences a demonstration on how to use the falconer's knot to tie & untie the bird’s leash & secure it safely on your fist.

After this initial lesson half-day participants have the chance to fly a team of Harris Hawks in the surrounding woods & fields for the rest of the morning learning the different methods & techniques used. The experience concludes with a photo-call with the birds & in total the activity lasts Approx. two & a half hours.

Full-day falconry courses at this wonderful Yorkshire centre follows the same itinerary as the half day in the morning then is followed by a light lunch taken in the field or if the weather is poor at a traditional Yorkshire pub. The afternoon session then sees you heading to the falcon flying arena where you’ll discover just how these impressive birds are exercised to the lure.  A photo opportunity rounds off this regal full day to perfection along with a final question & answer session.

For those who fancy a little potter around the Yorkshire byways the Hawk Walk for two is a great option. You get to watch the birds of prey at play as they dart in amongst the hedgerows & trees regularly flying back to your group as you’re walking along. The perfect way to take in the country air & witness the birds at their best too.

Popular with everyone both young & old there’s always something to learn with falconry. Yorkshire is one of the best places to see them in all their glory as they fly gracefully above you keeping an eagle-eye out for food the way they would in the wild in a truly impressive display of hunting prowess.
