The Enrica Rocca Cookery School is a pan-European culinary phenomenon with cookery courses held in Notting Hill & across the waters in Venice where Enrica dubbed the ' Cooking Countess' by the food media currently resides. These vouchers give you the chance to serve up a little bit of Venice on a plate
- in Notting Hill. Having grown up surrounded by food made using only the best & freshest ingredients it's little wonder that Enrica's daughters have stepped forward to continue the Enrica Rocca cookery school tradition in the heart of London. So meet your hosts for the day: Claire & Charlotte. Wiser than their years when it comes to all things culinary you will learn a lot from this enthusiastic duo. But before you even get to the point of rolling up yours sleeves & getting your aprons on there's one essential step
- gathering the ingredients. And that's what makes this Notting Hill course so unique in that before the cooking it's the shopping. You will meet at Portobello Road market which is a vibrant & bustling melange of stalls selling food stuffs from all over the world. Indeed Portobello is ideal for finding all those typical Italian ingredients that make all the difference when it comes to creating authentic food. Laden down with bags bursting with fresh produce & herbs (some of which you might never have heard of!) it's time to head back to Enrica's bright & airy Notting Hill abode. As you gather round in her professional-standard kitchen the goodies you brought from Portobello market will be unpacked & the cooking begins. The menu will include some impressive looking (and equally impressive tasting) antipasti starters a traditional pasta dish & a fresh meat or fish dish. In total you might be preparing up to half a dozen dishes but don't worry there's no need to try & remember everything or make notes as electronic recipe cards are provided for all participants. As the wonderful smells start wafting through the air this lovely kitchen in Notting Hill has suddenly transformed itself into a hive of activity in a typical Italian home with lots of chatter over the chopping & the occasional chink of a wine glass being refilled. This is what Enrica Rocca's cookery school is all about
- friendly lively & really rather brilliantly flamboyant.
