‘ Kathy’ is an elegant & beautiful evergreen shrub with lush, bright green leaves edged in creamy white. During the summer, small yellowy-green flowers appear, followed by pink or violet berries in autumn. Expertly grown in standard form with a clipped topiary lollipop head, it’ll bring height & formality to the garden all year round. Ideal either side of a door or gate or lining a pathway, & it’s an interesting alternative to standard box, bay or conifers & has a naturally neat habit, only needing an occasional trim to keep it in shape. Although happy growing in partial shade, ‘ Kathy’ will produce the best leaf colour & variegation when grown in full sun. Display your Euonymus ‘ Kathy’ standards in these beautiful Vintage ‘ Calista’ Planters. Stylish & modern, the pattern gives an antique feel to the planter, making it a feature in its own right. - November Position: Full Sun / Part Shade Height/ Spread: 150cm x 120cm Hardiness: Hardy Care: Grow Euonymus in any sheltered site in well-drained soil. Dig a planting hole 3 x wider than the roots of the shrub you're planting & mix some well-rotted compost or manure with the soil from the hole & use this to re-fill once the shrub is in place. Before planting soak container-grown shrubs thoroughly & allow to drain. Remove the plant from its pot & tease out a few of the roots. Add Mycorrhizal fungi to the roots when planting to help plants establish quicker. Place your shrub in the hole at the same level at the pot. Refill the hole with the earth removed (backfilling) & firm in the soil with your heel, avoiding the root ball. Water well & mulch around the base of the plant with a collar, compost, gravel, bark etc. If you're planting into pots, place some old rocks, stones or gravel in the bottom of the pot for drainage & ballast. Use the best compost you can buy & some sand or grit for drainage.
