A big-screen outing for the Monkees, following the cancellation of their television series. This film was the result of a collaboration between the b&, one of their television directors, Bob Rafaelson, & Jack Nicholson (with whom Rafaelson went on to make ' Five Easy Pieces', ' The Postman Always Rings Twice' & ' Blood & Wine'). This surreal, psychedelic comedy musical sees the Monkees land in the middle of a World War II foxhole before emerging from Victor Mature's hair as pieces of dandruff. Peter Tork quit the band soon after the film's release.
