Alex Gibney directs this documentary about the rise of James Brown. The film charts the American singer-songwriter's career from the release of his first hit single ' Please, Please, Please' with The Famous Flames in the late 1950s. Featuring clips of live performances & interviews with some of his famous fans & collaborators, the documentary chronicles the highs & lows of the Godfather of Soul's influential career. Aside from his contributions to music, the film also highlights Brown's involvement in politics & the civil rights movement.
