Celebrating a ten year collaboration with Adidas; Yohji Yamamoto, the design inspiration behind Y-3, presents to us his new Collection for Spring Summer 2013. The collection

Includes::
some favourite pieces from the past decade, whilst introducing newer but more fluid proportions & fits. Rather than the simplicity of classic athletic wear, though, this collection is far more interested in the broader aesthetic palette of English youth culture the iconographic patterns of Union Jacks, plaids & tartan, the sharp, graphic uniforms of the Mods, & the harshly dishevelled roughness of the punk-era. Yohji Yamamoto has twisted & warped timeworn staples, into an austere but richly-layered collection full of drooping, unstructured silhouettes & fragmented patterns. Sheer over-layers darkened the vibrancy of tartans deep reds & greens, combining with the heaviness of black outerwear to provide a parallel echo with the aesthetics of another very different, quintessentially American youth scene that of Nirvanas early Nineties grunge.

Nice Single Button Blazer Blue

Founded in 2008 by Khalis Al Qasimi, the Qasimi brand initially showcased their first womenswear collection at London Fashion week before making the jump in 2009 into the menswear arena when approached to be part of Paris menswear week. Qasimi Homme is now showcasing in Paris every season and is becoming a regular in the fashion press. Born in the United Arab Emirates, Qasimi won an art scholarship at the age of nine which allowed him to move to the United Kingdom. After dabbling with studies in languages and architecture, Qasimi finally found his vocational calling and went on to study fashion at Central Saint Martins. Qasimi Homme was originally founded with the intention of creating a directional lifestyle brand; Qasimi draws his inspirations from Socio-political issues,
architecture as well as contemporary art, creating garments for men who seek an attitude within the conventional clothing. For his SS13 collection Dystopia, the designer took inspiration from street culture, Luxury escapes and west coast gangs. The collection symbolises the notion of urban gentrification and its significance in the contemporary moment. The crossover between street and luxury has been masterfully painted through the renegotiation of iconic pieces from sportswear and urban street wear to create the juxtaposed connotations and overall message that opposites attract. The Qasimi Homme SS13 collection has a certain summery vibe both in print and colour. A breezy and youthful palette of tangerine, watermelon, powder blue and bubblegum pink, in every grade from pastel
through to intense neon combine to create the juxtaposition of new york streets meet Arabian nights. Water sport prints inspired by David Hackneys 1966 paintings and the Bandana prints taken from urban gang cultures, peppered the luxurious Italian cotton to add yet another layer of chic contradiction. Elegant tailoring masterfully merged with luxe casual wear. Exaggerated sweatshirts, knee length shorts, lightweight bombers, elasticized cuff cotton trousers and two piece suit jackets all combined to create this refreshing and contemporary collection.
