The radical geometries of Gareth Pugh's monochromatic designs are like armory for futuristic night fighters. Although associated to the Rick Owens group and quite macabre, Gareth emanates more of a sense of adventure and the essence of British fashion. In this new AW12 collection Pugh orchestrated that sense by cherry-picking through his own iconography. But the references to earlier collectionsthe stripes, the floating scarf points, the billowing volumes, the monochrome is refreshingly presented in each piece. Pughs signature all about refining with intense direction and one very particular point of view precision.
British born Osman Yousefzada began making clothes from a young age. His mother ran a couture dress making business in Birmingham, where Osman cemented his love for cloth and its workmanship. He went on to study Fashion Design at Central Saint Martins before launching his own label in September 2005. 2008, saw the launch of one of the most successful, and critically acclaimed high street collaborations of the year - Osman Yousefzada's Little Black Dress collection for Mango, which was sold in over 203 stores, and in 35 countries worldwide. His collections consist of simple yet highly intelligent and directional pieces. The clothes are exceptionally precise, well-tailored and finished but are softened with sensuous draping that is inspired by Osman's interest in ethnicity and the costume of ancient cultures.
Central Saint Martins graduate Todd Lynn worked for the prestigious Roland Mouret for seven years before launching his namesake label in 2006. Characterised by androgynous tailoring and expertly cut garments, his Menswear and Womenswear lines are regarded as some of the most exciting being produced in London and, season after season, are among the most anticipated to be shown at London Fashion Week.
Labelled as rock and rolls best kept secret, Lynn has made a statement with his razor sharp tailoring and passion for all things leather. Continuing to challenge his dark rock and roll style he creates architectural draping and beautiful tailoring with his signature luxurious leathers thrown in. As well as winning a dedicated following of fashion lovers, Todd also has a whole host of famous musicians and celebrity clientele, with rock royalty such as Mick Jagger, Marilyn Manson, Courtney Love and many more being serious fans of the designers work.
For Autumn Winter 2012 Todd Lynn presents a collection named Kitsch which we are proud to stock here at Hervia. Inspired by Norwegian painter Odd Nerdrum the collection consists of sharp suiting, feminine contrast panelling and a stunning monochrome colour palette with vibrant highlights of blue, gold and orange.
