The Ginkgo is a sole survivor of an ancient plant family dating back 160 million years. Sometimes referred to as the living fossil as it is extinct in the wild now except for a few remote temples in China where the Buddhists regard it as a sacred tree. The medicinal uses are varied but include the improvement of memory. It is also high in anti-oxidants so can improve age related conditions. Beautiful fresh green fan shaped leaves which turn to bright gold in autumn. Happy in containers & borders. Prefers well drained soil in sun. Height in 10 years 5m (16.5'"). Hardy perennial.
