The Mookie Bouncycle has been designed to encourage a child's gross motor development as well as balance & co-ordination skills in children aged from 18 months, up to 4 years. The Mookie Bouncycle has just two wheels but stands upright without any child assistance, so it is a balancing challenge that younger children very quickly master & enjoy. Children will love their "grown up" bike, its steerable front wheel & the "brum brum" noise which rewards them when they move forward. At 18 months, some children will bounce the bike forward, but many will just scoot it forward. From 2 years, most children will now bounce up & down on the seat but not necessarily achieve forward movement, they will still just scoot. Bouncing & scooting are important activities to develop gross motor skills, but joining the two actions, bouncing & scooting, requires the development of a higher level of co-ordination. With encouragement, a child will begin to co-ordinate their seat bounce with a forward scoot. Soon their bounce & scoot works in tandem & they propel forward much more effectively for maximum Bouncycle fun. They will be delighted to have acquired a new skill that makes their favourite ride on even better & will also get fitter because bouncing & scooting is much more active fun than scooting alone, building strength in their legs to achieve the biggest possible bounce.
