Gulf Oil International announced a major motorsport partnership initiative in 2008, as it linked up with Aston Martin Racing to become sponsors of the factory race teams Le Mans entry for three years. The 2008 Aston Martin works cars, with their famous 007 & 009 numbering, first ran in Gulfs iconic blue & orange livery at La Sarthe in June to become the latest in a long line of successful endurance race cars to carry the legendary livery. Gulf celebrated the 40th anniversary of its first win at Le Mans in the finest possible style, with a victory in LMGT1 going to the Gulf-sponsored Aston Martin Racing DBR9, number 009, driven by David Brabham, Darren Turner & Antonio Garcia. If this wasnt enough, the Gulf-sponsored 007 Aston Martin Racing LMP1 car wrote itself into the history books by winning the Drivers & Teams Championships in the 2009 Le Mans series, driven by Stefan Mucke, Jan Charouz & Thomas Enge. In recognition of this incredible achievement, Scalextric have paired these two icons from modern motorsport in a beautiful Gulf Oil Aston Martin Racing limited edition Twin Pack. Both cars are digital plug ready, with working rear lights & xenon effect headlights, along with easy change pick ups & magnatraction system for better track holding.
